Brain MALFUNCTION Can't remember Name of Show!!! Please Help.?

Hello all i am looking for the name of a Cartoon / Animation that was out in the late 80's to the Mid 90's i believe where there was an Alien conspiracy to take over the World, and the one who had to save it was this one Half alien Hybrid kid/teen who's race identify themselves to each other by making the Iris of one of their eyes expand and show a Blue ring like appearance ( looked kinda like it was turning it self inside out) , i would really appreciate any help with this as i have wracked by brain again and again but cant remember it for the life of me, also added bit of info i believe one of the characters had a Dog like creature that was named Old blue i think ....

The story of Invasion America begins in the early 1980s where humanoid aliens from the planet Tyrus begin to initiate their plans for making peaceful contact with Earth. The task of peaceful contact with Earth is being carried out by Dragit. Cale-Oosha, the new young ruler of Tyrus (after the mysterious death of his father), arrives with Imperial escorts to oversee his uncle Dragit progress with the project.

However upon arrival, his uncle, Dragit, claims that their dying planet ought to invade Earth and take hold of its resources starting with the country called the United States of America.

Cale refuses and Dragit tries to kill Cale, fighting breaks out between Cale escort forces and Dragit's army. Unfortunately, Dragit's forces are superior in numbers, and cut off from communication and far way from Tyrus, Cale and his remaining bodyguard and trusted friend, Rafe, escape to Earth, there they disguising themselves as humans, detected only if another alien looks them in the eye. (hence the blue ring-reflex in the iris)

With his nephew exiled and trapped on earth. Dragit return to Tyrus to announce to the people of Tyrus, that their beloved ruler Cale is dead, killed by Humans. Thus the plans for peace, now swings to conquest, with only a handful of citizens on Tyrus questioning their ruler's death at the hands of technologically inferior humans.

The years pass and Cale meets Rita Carter, a human woman; he falls in love with and marries her. They have a son, named David. Then one day Dragit’s Imperial invasion forces return to Earth. Aware that his brother's son may still be very much alive, Dragit sends scouts/ assassins to find Cale.

Luckily within the scouting party are Ooshati spies, loyal to Cale, who never truly believed that their leader and ruler was dead. They find Cale and urge him to return to Tyrus, to lead a revolt.

Making the difficult decision, Cale leaves Rita and their young son, David, under Rafe's protection on Earth. With Dragit's forces in hot pursuit, Cale attempts to leave the Sol system and returns to Tyrus to help strengthen his loyalist forces, the Ooshati. Vowing to return with reinforcement and stopping the pending invasion of Earth. All contact is lost once Cale's ship makes the jump into hyperspace.

Dragit, confident that Cale will never survive the vast armada of battle cruisers that are waiting for him once he exit the hyperspace jump, focuses his attention on finding his "long lost grand-nephew" David, whom he is determined to kill.

Accompanied by Rafe, David Carter's teenage life is thrown into a devastating adventure of eluding Dragit's forces on Earth and finding a way to stop the aliens from infiltrating strategic US military bases.
