I realize that the garden set is next to a flower pot in the picture, but I guess mentally the size didn’t click with me. I was picturing medium-sized tote bag and average sized tools. These tools are SO small! The two clippers are the only tools that seem to be normal size. The tools are basically too small to truly do anything meaningful in gardening, and I can’t even use the bag for normal-sized gardening tools. If you look at the picture, you will realize that the bag is the height of the watering can, just to give you a clue! After ordering I was very excited about this item, but when I received it I was very disappointed.

I have three flower boxes and some flower containers in a small deck (6×5′). I didn’t need standard size gardening tools that would be cumbersome to use for such small gardening jobs. I was looking for something compact. I considered getting the The Rumford Gardener HPC3007 Deluxe Indoor Garden Set with Mini Tote but the $30+ price tag was too steep for me. I got this one instead and I haven’t been disappointed. I’ve transplanted a Zinnia, and petunias without an issue and using the trimming shears (instead of plucking things by hand) makes my flowers very happy! I can’t compare the quality in tools to the Rumford but I’ve used them plenty and they’re not bending or rusting (just as long as you practice good gardening tool habits). The tote is sturdy and has enough room to fit even more tools. However, the spray pump for the glass spray bottle looks cheap. But I like using a different plastic spray bottle for that kind of thing. And I’ve seen these spray bottle replacements in gardening stores just in case. This is decent mini (indoor-outdoor) gardening kit that’s perfect for small jobs in tiny spaces.

I’ve owned this mini-set for ten years plus and loving it. The other reviewers must have missed the description where it indicated the set was for indoor planting. I still use it almost everyday, especially the pruner and the flower pruning snip.

I was underwhelmed. Actually I laughed when I opened the package. Perhaps shame on me, but the set is so mininaturized I don’t see how it is usable.
